Discover the dark true story of Richard Thomas Parker, the last man publicly hanged in Nottingham in 1864. Presented by Catherine Pincott-Allen (Emmaline Severn), a descendant of the perpetrator, this fascinating talk explores the shocking murder case that gripped Victorian Newark. Parker owned a butcher’s shop on Stodman Street, married at St Mary Magdalene Church and was well known in the town’s pubs. Audiences will be guided through the events leading up to the crime, the murder investigation, postmortem and courtroom trial before deciding Parker’s fate for themselves.
